We are out on the road but want to look back at the beautiful send off  we had at the Compound Studio thanks to good friend, Antione Arvizu. Words can’t describe all the love and support that was there to share this special moment in our wonderful hometown of Long Beach.

The food by Sarah Lim of the up and coming Under the Sun restaurant was absolutely delicious and the music by SLICE the BAND, Vanessa Mardueño and our very own Alyssandra Nighswonger with DJ 5th Degree Burn spinning in between really helped set the mood.

You’ve seen these great photos by photographer Jon Wallace most likely on Facebook and these are only a few of the many, but we wanted to share them again as we get our travel blog underway. We will fill you in soon on the few stops we’ve made so far on this incredible trip.

If you have a story to tell or a video to share, please share it here: roadtotheamericanwoman.com/share-your-stories/ in the message box Or use #roadtotheamericanwoman on any social media.

Road to the American Woman
Road to the American Woman redefines what it means to be a woman in America today. On a three-week journey from Long Beach, CA to the Million Women March in Washington, DC, songwriter Alyssandra Nighswonger and community arts advocate Nicolassa Galvez capture the untold stories of women across the country. These stories will be shared online throughout the journey and then composed into a documentary film.
